The ZFDS delegation led by the Board Chairperson Dr. Rosemary Kumwenda did today pay a courtesy call on his Royal Highness Paramount Chief Mpezeni iv at his laweni palace in mtenguleni.
Dr. Kumwenda indicated that the Service has been in the district from Tuesday and will continue offering a full complement of medical services to attendees and nearby rural health centers till Monday 24th February,2025.
The services being offered include: General Health Screenings, Dental services, Laboratory services, Ophthalmology Services, and Pharmacy Services. Additionally, the team is also providing Specialized Orthopedic Services, expert care for musculoskeletal conditions and injuries, particularly crucial during ceremonies where accidents are more likely to occur.
A ZFDS Emergency Response Plan was also indicated to his Royal highness , which plan ensures timely and effective response to medical emergencies during the ceremony. A ZFDS aircraft will be on standby for any urgent evacuations.
The Zambia Flying Doctor Service (ZFDS) team earlier in the week had the honor of witnessing the first ever ceremonial crossing of the Paramount Chief in luangwa and paid a courtesy call on Chief Mpezeni at Ephendukeni Palace.
The Chief expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the vital medical services being offered to his community.He further encouraged the Service to continue with the good work that they have continued to exhibit during each year the ceremony is held as the ZFDS has now become a sure partner of the Nc’wala traditional ceremony. The Chief pledged his continued support to the Service.
The courtesy call was a significant gesture of goodwill and cooperation between the ZFDS and the traditional leadership, demonstrating their shared commitment to improving the lives of the community.
