The Zambia Flying Doctor Service (ZFDS) over the weekend brought both essential healthcare and vibrant entertainment to the Chibwela Munshi Traditional Ceremony in Lufwanyama District.

The event, held on Saturday 13th September, 2025 was a celebration of the rich culture of the Lamba-speaking people and was attended by Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hon. Gift Sialubalo, who represented the Republican Presidential Mr. Hakainde Hichilema.

In addition to supporting the ceremony by painting the chief's palace and decorating the main arena, the ZFDS medical team provided a wide range of free services, including dental and eye care, radiology, and lab tests.

Two patients with critical conditions—one with severe anemia and another with acute diarrhea—were referred for further medical care.

The ZFDS brass band and majorettes also captivated the crowd with energetic performances, adding to the cultural festivities.

The ZFDS delegation was led by Mr. Mulenga Zulu,Director Finance who was accompanied by Director Medical Service Dr.Chisanga Puta,Chief Security Mr.Chama Chilatema,Chief Internal Auditor Mrs.Grace Kafula,Chief Planner Mr.Robison Mufumbilwa and Helicopter Pilot Mr. Zacharia Mbewe.

The ZFDS continues to enhance service delivery in the rural and hard to reach areas of the Country.
