His Royal Highness (HRH) Chief Mukuni of the Leya people has lauded the Zambia Flying Doctor Service (ZFDS) as a crucial lifeline, bringing essential healthcare to Zambia's most remote areas.
His commendation follows a successful ZFDS medical camp that concluded yesterday,
During a courtesy visit by the ZFDS team to his palace yesterday, the traditional leader expressed deep gratitude for the medical services provided to his subjects, specifically highlighting the significant support offered during the recent traditional ceremony.
"The Zambia Flying Doctor Service has truly become a lifeline for our people in hard-to-reach areas," Chief Mukuni stated.
"Many of my subjects have directly benefited from these vital services."
Chief Mukuni's influence extends across the Leya people in Kazungula, Livingstone, Zimba, and Kalomo districts.
Dr. Jonathan Masalo, who led the visiting ZFDS team, reaffirmed the Service’s unwavering commitment to serving underserved populations across the nation.
"Our mission is clear, to deliver quality healthcare to Zambia's most remote areas,"
Dr. Masalo emphasized, "The invaluable support and encouragement from traditional leaders strengthens our resolve and helps us expand our reach even further."
The ZFDS team also held a productive meeting with Kazungula Town Council Chairperson, Ms. Tatila Mbozi, who commended the efforts in complementing existing Government healthcare initiatives.
The ZFDS concluded its medical camp in the district, where residents flocked to receive a range of services.
These included general medical consultations, dental and eye care, laboratory diagnostics, and the dispensing of essential medicines at locations like Kazungula Clinic and Nyawa Mini Hospital.
At ZFDS we continue with our mandate and mission in the rural and hard to reach areas with a happy smile from our team, as our ZFDS customer care slogan says “we smile, we listen, we care and we deliver”
