The Zambia Flying Doctor Service (ZFDS) has deployed a team of doctors for the April 2025 Outreach Programme, running from 27th April to 4th May 2025.
The Outreach will cover Four (4) Provinces and Five (5) district hospitals, delivering both routine and specialized healthcare services to hard-to-reach communities. facilities across these districts. The routine services being offered include Dental,Ophthalmology,laboratory,and
Pharmacy services.
The Provinces and Districts to be Covered are:
1. Milenge District and Mwansabombwe District in Luapula Province. The Service will provide Routine healthcare services in Milenge with a surgical camp being done at Ng'anga Bilonda Hospital by Zambia Flying Doctor Service in Mwansabombwe.
2. Sesheke District Hospital in Western Province whose focus will be on conducting the Cataract surgeries with general medical services added.
3. Zambezi District Hospital in North Western Province and;
4. Rufunsa District in Lusaka Province will provide routine healthcare services.
The outreach programme that will target seven(7) facilities each ensures that critical health services are brought directly to the doorsteps of the communities that need them most, improving access to quality healthcare.
Through initiatives like these, The Ministry of Health through the ZFDS continues to bridge healthcare gaps, strengthen health systems, and improve lives across Zambia.
