The Ministry of Health has commended the Zambia Flying Doctor Service (ZFDS) for its innovative Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Hub, particularly its in-house Artificial Intelligence (AI) model called AeroMED intelligence that generates data-driven analysis from outreach activities.
Speaking when he visited the ZFDS stand at the ongoing Zambia International Trade Fair, the Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary for Technical Services , Dr. Kennedy Lishimpi, said the AI model has the potential to significantly improve health data collection and analysis if integrated into the Ministry's systems.
Dr. Lishimpi noted that the model would enable the Ministry to collect and analyse health data from across the country, helping identify the most common illnesses in specific communities and at individual health facilities.
He said this would support evidence based planning, improve resource allocation, and ensure healthcare services are tailored to the needs of the people of Zambia.
The Zambia Flying Doctor Service continues to embrace innovation and digital technology to strengthen healthcare delivery, demonstrating its commitment to building smarter, data-driven health systems for the nation.
