The Zambia Flying Doctor Service (ZFDS) has received a generous donation of 30 cases of chlorine from Ndola resident Mr. Barejia Irfan to support cholera prevention efforts.
The handover ceremony took place at ZFDS Headquarters at Zuze Airforce Base.
ZFDS Director of Finance, Mr. Mulega Zulu, received the donation on behalf of the Service and expressed gratitude to Mr. Irfan for his timely contribution.
The supplies arrive as the Service prepares to launch a cholera sensitization campaign on the Copperbelt. This will be done under the guidance of the Ministry of Health,Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development and Chililabombwe Muncipal Council specifically targeting Ndola and the Chililabombwe-Kasumbalesa border area.
The campaign represents a proactive approach to preventing potential waterborne disease outbreaks that are common during the rainy season.
Mr. Irfan, who sourced the scarce commodity from Kitwe, pledged continued support for community health initiatives in the Country.
Also present to receive the donation were ZFDS Chief Internal Auditor Mrs. Grace Mwila Kafula, Chief Human Resource Officer Mr. Edward Msoni and Chief Planner Mr.Robinson Mufumbilwa. The team assured proper accountability for the donated materials and commended the partnership between ZFDS and private citizens in advancing public health.
We continue to ensure we provide quality health care in a clean, healthy and sustainable environment. We call upon stakeholders to come on board ,together we can prevent Cholera.
