The Zambia Flying Doctor Service (ZFDS) successfully participated in the Mutamfya Nsala Traditional Ceremony hosted by Her Royal Highness Chieftainess Shimukunami of the Lamba-speaking people in Lufwanyama District.
In line with its mandate to combat disease and preserve human life, ZFDS leveraged the large gathering to conduct a comprehensive medical outreach programme aimed at improving access to healthcare services for the local community.
During the ceremony, the ZFDS medical team provided free healthcare services, including general medical consultations and screenings, ophthalmic care, dental services, laboratory diagnostics, and pharmaceutical support.
In partnership with Children International Zambia, the team also distributed hygiene kits to children and elderly members of the community to promote good hygiene practices and overall community wellness.
The event was officially graced by Copperbelt Province Permanent Secretary, Mr. Lawrence Mwanza, who emphasized the importance of maintaining unity, peace, and cooperation across the province.
The Mutamfya Nsala Ceremony served as an important cultural and civic platform, bringing together over 70 traditional leaders from the Copperbelt, Luapula, and Southern Provinces.
ZFDS remains committed to extending quality healthcare services to communities across Zambia and supporting initiatives that promote public health and well-being.
