The Zambia Flying Doctor Service (ZFDS) team, led by Dr. Chisanga Puta, paid a courtesy call on Mongu Town Clerk (TC) Oliver Muuka and later met with Mongu District Commissioner(DC) Morgan Akabeswa ahead of the upcoming Kuomboka Ceremony.
Mr. Muuka welcomed the team and acknowledged the critical role ZFDS plays in delivering healthcare services to remote communities. He emphasized the importance of using media to disseminate information about ZFDS’s work and assured the team of the support during their operations.
Mr. Akabeswa also expressed gratitude for ZFDS’s presence, highlighting how many lives in underserved areas benefit from the service. He reaffirmed the New Dawn Government’s commitment to prioritizing health, stating that a healthy community leads to a stronger nation, alongside education and agriculture.
Dr. Puta outlined ZFDS’s planned outreach efforts leading up to the ceremony, which include visits to the health facilities in the area. The outreach program will run for a total of seven days, including medical support on the day of the Kuomboka Ceremony.
Dr. Puta also emphasized the importance of collaborating with the Provincial Health Office (PHD)and District Health Office (DHO) to enhance the impact of medical services during the ceremony.
